Technical Support Frequently Asked Questions

My water is not getting hot enough for a bath.

Check the temperature of the hot water coming to the tub. It should be at least 110 deg F. Check the incoming hot water screens. If the screens are even partially plugged it will increase fill times and create a drop in temperature. If your supply of hot water is adequate, then manually adjust the thermostatic mixing valve. (Refer to user manual or adjustment procedure online.) If this fails to increase the temperature, the cartridge may need replacing.

Water comes out into the tub when I turn on my cleaning system, but it is not delivering any solutions.

The water for your cleaning and disinfecting system passes over an injector assembly which produces a vacuum to draw the cleaning/disinfectant out of the bottle. Verify the bottles are not empty, the feed tube is completely inserted into the bottle, the injection orifice on the injector assembly is not plugged, and there is an adequate amount of water passing over the injector assembly in order to produce enough vacuum to draw the cleaner/disinfectant.

When my tub is draining, water comes out near the front of the tub.

The tub is equipped with a secondary drain system. This system is designed to catch water that may leak from the door; it contains a check valve that prevents water from the drain backing up into the system. If the check valve is stuck open and the drain cannot handle the amount of water draining from the tub, water could back up into the secondary drain line and deposit it at the front of the tub. Verify the check valve is working correctly and then clean the drain so it can handle the water being drained.

How do I know if my Remedy™ Ultraviolet Water Purification System is working?

“System Operating When Lit” indicator lights on the control panel will be lit.

When I press my whirlpool on/off button, the motor does not come on.

Verify there is power to the bathing system. The circuit breaker may have tripped and needs to be reset. If there is power to the bathing system, push the whirlpool on/off button and listen for the switch to make a clicking noise. If there is no audible click, check the air tube is attached to the back of the on/off button, is not pinched shut, and is attached at the whirlpool motor. If the motor still does not start, contact technical support at 715.247.5625 or [email protected].

How do I get my scale to change from kilograms to pounds?

Turn the scale on and wait until it goes to zero. Then, press and hold down the last “L” in Apollo. “CONV” will appear. Keep pressing down until the Kg changes to LBS.

Water is back feeding into my cleaner and disinfecting bottles.

The selector valve should be left in the rinse position when you are not cleaning or disinfecting the bathing system. Any water back feeding through the system will go into the tub, not the bottles. If you only have the back-feed problem when the tub is full of water and the whirlpool is running, the check valve at the whirlpool pump needs replacing. If it back feeds constantly, then the disinfectant on/off valve needs replacing.

How many gallons of water does my reservoir hold?

65 gallons.

How long does it take to fill the reservoir/tub?

Approximately 15 minutes.

My whirlpool motor comes on, but I do not get much whirlpool action.

The bubbling whirlpool action in your tub comes from the induction of air into the circulating water. Each jet can be manually adjusted to increase or decrease the amount of air being added to the moving water. To adjust the whirlpool action, fill the tub with water and turn on the whirlpool. Rotate the adjustable jet eye until you achieve the desired whirlpool action.

My door leaks.

Verify the door is closed and latched. Check the condition of the door gaskets. If the gaskets show signs of wear, replace them. Make sure the door is left open when not in use.

Is there an adjustment on my door to make it fit tighter?

Yes. On the latch end of the door there are 3 adjustable latches called “pawls”. Each pawl can be adjusted in or out to change the door tension.

There are two diamond shaped chrome knobs on the control panel on my tub. One turns on my shower and the other fills my tub. How do I remove the chrome knob to work on the valve?

The knobs are a friction fit knob. To remove, grasp it firmly and pull straight back. To reinstall the knob, line up the splines on the secondary spindle and give the knob a firm rap with the palm of your hand.

My scale is not accurate; it seems to be weighing light.

During the weighing process, make sure the residents’ feet are not on the footrests or touching the floor. It is a good practice to not have the footrests tucked up under the chair, as this can interfere with the weighing process. Refer to the scale operation and calibration procedure in your manual; available online at

Is it necessary to clean my reservoir tank?

To minimize the likelihood of contamination or bio-film growth, it is imperative that the reservoir tank be drained after the last bath every night and allowed to dry. The procedure for cleaning and disinfecting the reservoir tank is in your operating manual; available online at

I have a reservoir model tub and water from the reservoir constantly leaks into the tub.

The float valve may not be shutting off. This causes the water level to reach the tank overflow and drain to the tub. If the float valve is shutting off, then the reservoir fill valve probably needs replacing.

My whirlpool motor keeps tripping the GFI breaker.

Verify there is no water behind the tub that could cause the GFI to trip.

If your whirlpool has the Remedy™ Ultraviolet Water Purification System, it could be a ballast problem. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet. Remove the 2 fuses located at the bottom of the electrical box. Re-connect the power and turn on the whirlpool motor. If the motor keeps running replace one or both ballasts. If the GFI trips, the whirlpool motor may defective.

If your whirlpool does not have the Remedy™ Ultraviolet Water Purification System, an electrician should check the electrical service. It could also be a defective whirlpool motor.

How long do your ultraviolet light bulbs last?
Typical life expectancy is between 5,000 and 10,000 hours.
Am I required to install RPZ valves?

All bathing systems are manufactured with built-in back flow prevention. Ask your installer whether there is a need to install additional backflow prevention valves.

What are the hot water supply requirements for an Advantage™ series bathing system?

A minimum of 200 gallons per hour of hot water in a rapid recovery hot water system.

When preparing for my electrical service, what type of GFI should I install?

Dedicated 115 VAC plug-in receptacle protected by a 15A GFCI circuit breaker.

What is the weight capacity of the transfer chair?

The maximum weight capacity of the chair is 400 lbs.
