Description
Why facilities choose The Shield™
The Shield is a rigid physical barrier that sits at the back of a service or hopper sink and contains splash where it starts, before it reaches the wall, adjacent supplies or the person at the sink. It is an engineering control. On the NIOSH hierarchy of controls, engineering controls rank above administrative controls and worn PPE because they do not depend on someone doing the right thing every time. The Shield supports what your facility already documents under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 and works alongside, never in place of, the PPE your staff wear and your cleaning protocol.
Material
The panel is 1/8 inch PETG, clear throughout. PETG is not acrylic. On standard impact testing it is roughly five times tougher. Acrylic cracks under impact and crazes when a stressed surface meets solvent. PETG flexes and returns. In a room where a stainless cart clips the corner of a sink twice a week, that difference decides whether a guard lasts a year or lasts the life of the room.
The panel is curved rather than flat, and it flexes. A formed curve holds the material under load for the whole service life of the guard, and a stressed surface that meets cleaning chemistry several times a day is the exact condition that crazes acrylic. PETG holds the curve and still gives when something hits it.
It wipes down with the quaternary disinfectants and pre-disinfectant detergents facilities use every shift, including Cid-A-L™ II and Turbo Clean™. Avoid solvent-based and abrasive cleaners.

Not sure about your rim? If it is thinner than 0.25 inches or thicker than 2 inches, contact us with your sink model before ordering and we will confirm fit.

Warranty
Lifetime panel warranty. The PETG panel is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, including cracking and crazing, for as long as the original purchasing facility owns it. Not transferable. If a panel fails, we ship a replacement panel at no charge.
One-year hardware warranty. The clamp, bolts and rubber mounts are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the ship date.
Not covered: impact damage, including a guard knocked from a counter; damage from solvent-based or abrasive cleaners; scratches and cosmetic wear; modification; loss after delivery.
Making a claim: send a photo of the issue and proof of purchase, meaning an order number or an invoice from us or an authorized seller. We do not ask you to return a guard that has been in service. Call 877-234-2284 or use our contact form.
Returns
Return an unused guard in its original packaging within 30 days of the ship date for a full refund. The 30 days run from the day we ship, not the day you receive. No restocking fee. Return shipping on a change of mind is paid by you.
Checking fit is fine. Mount the guard, confirm it sits flat on your rim, and take it off again. That is not putting it into service, and a guard that does not fit is still returnable.
Once a guard has been put into service it cannot be returned. It has been in a soiled utility room, a laboratory or another contaminated environment. We do not take those back and we do not resell returned units.
Damaged in transit or wrong item. A shipment is our responsibility until it reaches you. Send a photo and your order number and we will replace it at our cost.
